So, I originally mentioned August as a time of release for the latest book.
Obviously that didn’t happen.
I have had a couple of updates and even an “it is essentially done” post.
Well, things happen.
I had a wonderful opportunity to have some people put eyes on my work before I released it. Please keep in mind that this was new territory for me. In my previous work, I simply write, spell check and release it.
But when you have a chance to have leaders in your field review your work, you simply do not let that chance pass. You grab it and learn from those wiser than you.
Now, if any writer says that it is fun to have other writers review your work and tell you what you need to do to fix it, they are lying. But there is typically no growth without pain. If you really want to learn and get better, then you need to listen to those who know more than you know.
And while you want people to read a first draft and say “it is perfect as is, run with it!”, I have found that Stuart Williams had it exactly right when he told me that “the editing and rewriting is where the real magic happens.”
So, Prelude to a Fight is undergoing so major changes. I feel that the changes were not only important, but essential in getting my message across. The finished product will be my best work to date, and I owe it to the help of my friends.
As always, this is where information on this process will be posted first. I thank all of you for your continued support, kind words, emails, texts, and encouragement!
